Dr. Maureen Nelson earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stockton University in 2020, followed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in 2023. During her academic journey, she contributed to research examining the potential relationship between lower back pain and diaphragmatic breathing, showcasing her early interest in exploring complex physiological connections.

Her clinical experience was enriched through rotations at Thomas Jefferson Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic and various acute and subacute rehabilitation facilities, providing a comprehensive foundation in diverse patient care settings. This hands-on experience prepared her for the multifaceted challenges of physical therapy practice.

In September 2023, Dr. Nelson embarked on her professional career as a Physical Therapist at Responsive Physical Therapy. She has since expanded her expertise through specialized courses in vestibular training, orthopedic conditions, and the management of patients with balance impairments and neurological disorders. This ongoing education demonstrates her dedication to delivering advanced, evidence-based care that incorporates the latest developments in physical therapy practice.

Dr. Nelson’s practice encompasses a wide range of patients. Her approach to patient care is characterized by a unique “full-spectrum focus” methodology. This involves not only dedicating undivided attention to each patient during treatment sessions but also considering the patient’s lifestyle, environment, and personal goals to create truly individualized treatment plans. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Nelson embraces an active and diverse lifestyle. She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and rock climbing, as well as going to concerts, bowling, and reading. These diverse interests contribute to her balanced perspective as both an individual and a healthcare professional.
